My comment in another blog repeating Gavin's "cancelled" assertion drew this response :

The
cancelation notice was spurious and caught me by surprise when people
phoned me. If I were paranoid, I'd air my suspicions.
I don't read RealClimate so I don't know what they reported.
Anyway, WE never canceled; it was listed by the Press Club, duly held and paid for (30 breakfasts and 20 additional bagels).

RC Re 1. Thanks for the update- who claimed it was canceled ?

An amusing event: Got a call from a guy who thought the 'cancelation' was due to sinister left-wing pressure.
He is so upset he is sending me a really big donation for SEPP...

Full disclosure: my 1995 New York Times Op-ed on the first WTC bombing led to my last interaction with the Marshall Institute ( as in info@marshall.org , above ) which offered to pay my way to DC from Harvard's Olin Institute For Strategic Studies, where I was an Associate, to testify, pro bono , to the House Judiciary Committee on the Comprehensive Antiterrorism Act of 1995. -RS
