Verbatim excerpt from WSJ Podcast: You Tube's Presidential Inquiry"
OpinionJournal.com's John Fund gives a review of last nights CNN debate featuring questions from folksy video producers to the presidential candidates ( July 24)
Opinion Journal Editor James Taranto:
Did I hear there was a snowman?
Fund :
Yes ,there was a question on global warming and it was posed by a snowman with a
( falsetto) very squeaky voice
Taranto:
All right, if global warming is a problem, it's funny that they managed to find a snowman in the northern hemisphere in July.
If this sits oddly with reports of urban snow cone manufacture,or 4th of July snowball fights in the High Sierra not far from Taranto's California home, recall he reckons himself among those who:
"lack the time, the inclination and possibly the intellect to delve deeply into the science."
Oh, those wacky, contrarian WSJ op-ed writers--I can't wait for them to think up a new thing to be in denial about.

Wait a minute... wait... those are WSJ editors?!?!
Considering Rupert Murdoch's revised stance on global warming, maybe it would be a good thing if he bought the WSJ after all...

Clearly, the possibility of it's being a question posed by an Aussie snowman eluded the crack WSJ team.
As the joke eluded Mr. Mims.
